New Moon, May 19, 2023
Glimpsing the New Moon chart, a first thought was, “What a wonderful skyscape.” The cosmic configuration is like a breathtaking painting. While the energies seem to be easing up, the work is not any less severe; it is just that we are at a different level of the work. We have acclimated to significant change by now and are finding our way into the new opportunities.
This lunar month, the Sun and the Moon embrace one another in the last degrees of Taurus. There is the exquisite addition of Sedna, that sea goddess and a far-reaching planet that calls us to live our unique destiny. This stunning configuration sextiles Neptune (and Mars) and speaks to this lunar month as a turning point for embodying high vibrational consciousness.
The TNO, Mors-Somnus, guardian light of death (transformation) and sleep, is also in this Solular and Sedna embrace. The waters of intuition, inner knowing, and rooted inspiration are deep and can bring new understanding by making the unconscious conscious.
The Sun and Moon engaging closely with Mors-Somnus and Sedna, with Ceto opposing and Arawn trining, we can mine the depths of hidden shadows. This lunar month invites us to embody the Light.
Ceto, the TNO, represents monstrous beasts remnant in our psyche. That Ceto is opposite Sun/Moon/Sedna/Mors-Somnus suggests that we can bring the monsters to light, thus ending their hold on us.
Arawn trines the Sun and Moon configuration, offering another motif of underworld work this month. A Celtic god that helps us live with integrity, Arawn can also help release what binds us from experiencing freedom.

If we are courageous and live knowing that these planets and the cosmos work with us, there can be surprising reveals regarding who we are becoming. Yes, transformation is involved!
With Eris squaring Hylonome, we may find it helpful to tell the truth about our grief as we allow Neptune, in the last degrees of Pisces, squaring Asbolus, in the end degrees of Gemini, to bring new consciousness up from the depths. While the energies we experience this lunar month may be scary, weepy, or intense, the configurations in the sky offer new freedoms through body/mind/spirit integration.
Now might be a good month to keep a journal or an ongoing note on one of your devices to honour and track your awakenings.

This aspect brings the chance to blast us into the deep space beyond conceptual thought as we are open to possibilities of the fullest potential of our relationships. Here is an invitation to engage with the dreamstate to open our experience of boundaries and connection. Call out the names of these planets as you enter sleep or go for a walk on a beach or in a forestry park. If willing, ask to open wide.
